Abortion and Women’s Care
What I'm Up To (Activism), What I Reflected On (Skipped), and What's Occupying My Mind (Roe v Wade) - all part of Allen's Friday Flights
HELLO to the Friday Flights
It’s July 1. I was going to do this big half-year mark, talk about some accomplishments. But I don’t have the heart to do that.
Instead, I have dedicated a significant majority of today’s Friday Flights to be on Abortion and Women’s care.
My usual updates about what I’m up to are shortened, and at the end this time.
Take care of yourself,
Allen

Abortion and Women’s Care
On a less-than pleasant Friday Afternoon of June 24, 2022 - the U.S. was hit with the reversal of Roe v. Wade. As I watched the chatter start across all social media places, with stories, arguments, and what not, I began to pay attention to the helpers.
You know what some helpers were doing? Curating resources. The resources were curated in fragments, many electing to choose around 3 things for their posts. The more elaborate resources were long form word documents.
Perhaps a compelling way for me to empathize and learn about Abortion and Women’s care in the United States is to be the persona of someone that urgently needs it. And thus, www.AbortionCare.us was created - in an afternoon.
Launched from the POV of someone that is on mobile, frazzled, and most likely unaware of 99% of the options available to them. I’ve heard of Plan B, but have you heard of Plan C? Or what is a prescription free OTC Emergency Contraceptive? I didn’t, until that Friday.
By circumstance, it’s not something that I wish was created, and I don’t know where it will go. But I bought an easy domain to remember, turned on SEO, and post it where it is most apt to get visibility. I have observed people reshare it, about 3 times a day on LinkedIn since last Friday.
It could be that this an entire effort is a “feel good” moment, but the activist in me was looking to do something beyond something performative.
So here we are.
Any recommendations on what to do next?
I’m just an Asian Male doing his part to contribute.

Today I’m using my platform to give a platform to these content creators as it relates to Abortion and Women’s care.
Read this especially if you are a man and can’t effectively talk to someone about this, or talk to a woman about what they experience (it’s a lot more common than you think), then let this curated content be the context.

What I Reflected On
TL;DR: Delayed!
Hi. Last week I wrote the Multiverse of Me. In it, I invited you to come back the following week for Part II where I would talk about self-acceptance.
I’ll be delaying that to the following week, as I am dedicating the available text space to the previous section.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
What I’m Up To
TL;DR: Activism.
The Things:
I rapidly launched www.AbortionCare.us, a curated resource for Abortion and Women’s care. Thanks to Kasie (A family doctor), Melani (Social Media Wizard) for proofing and socializing it, as well as a slew of other contributors.
I met Umar Mallam Hassam, the host of The Accountant Quits, a show focused on accountants quitting and entering Blockchain. At the time we met, he was on the beautiful island of Mauritius.
I met Electra Frost; she’s the co-founder of Digital Playhouse and a virtual CFO; she is Blockchain education for Australia. In particular, the On-Chain. She also introduced Auditchain, and the Early Adopters Hub which connects accountants with early stage startups.
How to talk to kids about radicalization is a great NPR Lifekit episode that applies to kids, teenagers, and adults.
I participated in the NFT minting of Food Fighter's Universe for .345 ETH. It’s the restaurant group beyond the first NFT Restaurant. I have no idea what I just got to be honest.
Until next time.
So much great information !
