Using an AI + Your Video Submissions to Learn
Thank you for your video submissions! I think Go Charlie did well.
Hello Professionally Curious One!
Today’s a special one. I tested out GoCharlie’s AI to see if I can learn content without watching it, but also indexing said content into a second brain system.
Full disclosure I did invest in GoCharlie, but I’m not paid for this, and I’m 100% doing this because it sounded fun.
Enjoy!

Testing GoCharlie AI
Last week I put out a notice to send me videos to help me torture test the GoCharlie AI. (Full disclosure I invested in them).
I have to say - you all have such great and curiosity driving submissions except… the person who sent me a 12 hour CPA FAR Exam video. You sadist.
Here are the stats:
Performance
17 videos shared
15 videos successfully analyzed // 2 videos failed
Videos as long as 12 hours were successfully analyzed
Themes:
Talks, Tutorials, Investigative Journalism, and Motivational Speakers were the most popular submissions
Lots of Bitcoin
Lots of Psychology

Why am I doing this?
TL;DR: In 2023, I want to continue my efforts in developing that “Second Brain”.
The Second Brain
I’m fascinated by the concept of a second brain. The phrase itself was made popular by Tiago Forte. In it, he describes how to reduce the amount of time it takes to recall any information, whether spoken, learned by you, or even initially scribbled out.
The TL;DR: of how to do that is this: To remember more, you need to let go of holding it in your brain and write it in a place that’s easily searchable. This includes unfiltered thoughts as well. The less friction you have when you “Switch contexts” the better you’ll remember and recall.
You build your written knowledge system, and how you make it searchable too.
What I’m doing here is using GoCharlie to “Watch” and “Summarize” videos that I can’t use my active hours consuming. I’ll get the 7 second gist of it as opposed to watching the 7 minute version of it. If I find the content amazing, I have direct links to the source material to reference even more of it.
I’m using testing GoCharlie out to see if it can build a knowledge base based on Youtube videos of my choosing. Not just any knowledge base, but a searchable one too. It’s all in Notion.
So I used yours!
What did I learn from the videos?
TL;DR: I learned a shit ton.
Direct excerpt from one of the submitted videos as analyzed by the AI. GoCharlie summarizes content in bulletpoints.
Trust In Today's Society: A False Perception
I believe that lack of trust in today's society is not due to our interactions with one another.
We can thank Frederick Taylor for inventing the term 'manager' and creating a system where we are treated as cogs with no choice.
Studies have shown that most people are trustworthy, even when nobody else could possibly know their choices.
It matters that we are viewed as trustworthy, but it's unacceptable the way public institutions treat us like they don't trust us.
Our media and businesses perpetuate collective illusions about what a successful life looks like, which falsely puts fame at number one when in reality it should be dead last.
This is from the “Psychologist Debunks 8 Myths of Mass Scale | Todd Rose”.
Not bad.
There’s a lot of rich content like this - so here is the most profound bulletpoint per video I watched.
Related to Psychology
About Procrastination: There are two kinds of procrastination one with an impending deadline, where you can still manage to get something done; and another non deadline related kind that often goes unnoticed but can cause long term unhappiness.
About Mindsets: Comparing a walk in park (where you can be present) with an expensive item like a Rolex watch highlights how much easier it is for us to project into the future rather than being happy now.
About Mental Fortitude: Going through uncomfortable emotions is the only way to get past them; instead of hosting a “pity party”, I need to accept that others are separate from me.
About Manipulating Emotions: I have devised a five step plan for anchoring positive states such as confidence and happiness: Step 1. Decide on stimulus and state; Step 2. Recall vivid memories associated with positive state; Step 3. “Step inside” daydream related to these memories; Step 4. Associate emotion with trigger (thumb & forefinger); Step 5. Test anchoring system out until it becomes automatic.
Related to Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Economics
Regarding Bitcoin History: In spring 2010, Laszlo made the first known bitcoin purchase of two pizzas for 10,000 bitcoins, making it into tangible goods transaction.
Regarding Bitcoin’s Technology: To fool someone here, one would need to do all the work alone until everyone else catches up with their own blockchain, which can become impossible if they don't have close to 50% of computing resources among all miners.
Regarding Ethereum and SEC: If Ethereum were considered as a security at its Inception but no longer due to sufficient decentralization, there is still no clear framework for penalty or Rehabilitation regarding this particular case.
About Inflation: Our economic system is designed around two percent inflation as a measurement tool but this hidden tax arbitrarily takes from middle class/poor people while benefiting the rich with assets going up.
Regading Binance: A former SEC official believes that the report does not address internal Financial controls and doesn't give assurance or conclusion on the data presented.
Related to Careers and Society
About Navy Seals: In order to become an elite warrior, one must learn how to ask for help when needed and accept it when offered.
Related to War Veterans: Memories shared between service members who were also in the same battles were easier to discuss due to not wanting come across as bragging or flaunting one's experiences.
Related to Society: Collective Illusions involve people in a group going along with something they don't actually agree with because they believe it is popular.
Related to Long Form Technical Education Videos
About the CPA Exam: A vendor was issued a check on Dec 31 which should have been credited from accounts payable and debited from cash but may not be reflected in the year three balance sheet depending on when it was mailed out.
About 3d Modeling: By holding down the shift key while transforming objects, I am able to duplicate them and turn them into either their own instances or references of other original objects.
About Amazon FBA: Well I’m versed here and I can tell you that it’s a rehash of every other Amazon FBA tutorial. To the person who sent the Amazon FBA Tutorial: I don’t recommend entering Amazon FBA. Besides my own experience, if you read the analysis, you should be aware that it’s a complete rehash of virtually every other Amazon FBA Guide. This person is more content creator than FBA business owner; there is a reason why this is the focus.

How I did this
I took the video
I dropped it into the GoCharlie AI Content Repurposing Engine, which I have commandeered for the second brain test.
I left all settings unmodified. There were settings that even allowed me to change it to pirate tone, Rick C137, or Shakespeare.
I grabbed the text output and put it in a Notion page, free for everyone to access.
Enough of about me talking, here’s the results.
Very cool concept!
